    The No. 1 from Greece started year in Chennai, but was winless at ATP-level until beating Bubka and Stakhovsky in Davis Cup tie against Ukraine in April...Only other victory came at Roland Garros in May over Guccione in 1st RD (l. to Robredo)…Rose to a career-high No. 112 in February…Went 1-3 in doubles play…On Challenger circuit, won title in Banja Luka (d. Navarro) and was runner-up in Seoul (l. to Sela)...In doubles, won Sunrise crown (w/Vliegen).


    1998--Doubles finalist at Greece #5 Futures…1999--Won Greece #4 Futures (d. Saulnier)…In doubles, runner-up at Greece #3 Futures…2000--Appeared in four Futures final in home country, capturing three titles…2001--Followed runner-up at Greece #3 with Futures titles at Romania #1 (d. Hanescu)…Won Barcelona Challenger in October (d. Coutelot)…Doubles finalist at Hungary #6 Futures…2002--Claimed two Futures titles in Jamaica…Made Grand Slam debut as a qualifier at Wimbledon and lost 11-9 in fifth set to Lopez…Won doubles title at Jamaica Futures (w/Rovas)…2003--Won four Futures titles in six finals, including back-to-back wins in Greece in October…Reached doubles final at three Futures in Greece…2004--Won singles and doubles (w/Rovas) titles at Bangkok Futures…Also claimed doubles title at Italy #4 Futures (w/Jakupovic)…2005-- Reached consecutive Futures finals in Greece, winning one title…Also claimed title at Burnie Challenger (d.     Began playing tennis at age six…Father George is a pharmaceutical sales manager and Mother Angela is a housewife. No brothers or sisters…Considered clay his favourite surface prior to coming to Wimbledon qualifying, but now having played on grass likes it a lot…Considers best achievement of his career so far to be winning a challenger on clay in Barcelona in 2001, and helping Greece be promoted to Europe/Africa Zone Group I in Davis Cup in 2001…Has his left eyebrow pierced as well as the top of his left ear…Hobbies include skiing, music, going to the cinema and clubbing. He enjoys bungee jumping and likes watching soccer but not playing…Did not play on the ITF Junior Circuit.
