    All-American at Stanford.
Bourne does nothing to tarnish Stanford's reputation for producing
talented players and human beings of considerable intellect. His game is
based on power, and an unceasing penchant for attacking. Fast courts suit
him, as evidenced by his reaching the semifinals on the grass at Bristol in
1984 (for the second consecutive year) and then having the misfortune of
drawing Jimmy Connors in the first round at Wimbledon. Lloyd, although
losing in straight sets, gave a good account of himself in that match.
