    • Was born in Belgium, where he lived forthree years before moving to France.
    • Began playing tennis aged four in Aix en Provence. There was a tennis club next to his house, so he began playing during holidays and enjoyed it.
    • Left home for one year when he was 12 to go to Poitiers for the “Pole France” tennis training programme.
    • Father is operations director for a shipping company and mother is an Italian teacher. Has two sisters and one brother.
    • Speaks French, Italian and English. Nickname is Lucho.
    • Won the 2021 Roland Garros boys' singles title.
    • Cracked the world's Top 100 in April 2023 aged 18.
    • He grew up idolising Roger Federer, who won his first major title 10 months before the Frenchman was born.
    • It was important for him to continue his education while competing as a professional tennis player. He is studying mathematics through Paris Dauphine University.
    • Has won three ATP Challenger Tour titles as of April 2023. Since 2016, the only players to win at least three Challenger titles before their 19th birthday are Van Assche, Carlos Alcaraz, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune.
    • He enjoys watching football and is a fan of Paris Saint Germain. Favourite athlete is Kylian Mbappé.
    • Favourite book is L’Etranger by Albert Camus, movie is Gladiator, TV show is Prison Break and actor is Kevin Hart.
    • Says his best quality is that he is a hard worker and his worst quality is that he is impatient.

    • Former junior world No. 1 entered Top 100 in May 2023 shortly after defeating 3-time Grand Slam champion Wawrinka to earn 2nd ATP Tour win at 2023 Banja Luka (l. to No. 1 Djokovic in 3 sets). Then reached career-high No. 65 on 21 August 2023 shortly after reaching QF in Hamburg (l. to eventual champion Zverev).
    • Made tour-level debut at 2022 Antwerp before earning first ATP Tour win at 2023 Estoril.
    • Owns 50-27Challenger record (16-5in 2023), with titles at 2022 Maia, 2023 Pau and 2023 San Remo.
    • Defeated No. 72 Rinderknech at 2023 Pau CH SF for biggest career win before saving 2 championship points to defeat Humbert in the longest Challenger final in history (3 hours, 56 minutes).
    • Posted 29-19 Challenger record in 2022 (1-3 in finals), going on a 19-6 run from late September to December, reaching finals of Lisbon, Brest and Valencia before winning first ATP Challenger title in Maia.
    • Defeated fellow countryman Fils to win the 2021 Roland Garros boys’ singles title and ended junior career with a 79-27 record.
