    In 1982 he won the USTA Boys' 18s National Indoors and Grasscourt titles
    while winning the U.S. Open Junior doubles title. He was also doubles runner
    up at the 1982 French and Italian Junior Championships.
    Upset No. 3 seed Brad Gilbert at Boston in 1988 en route to the quarter
    finals, his best Grand Prix finish.
    Moved from Czechoslovakia at the age of four to his present residence of
    Willow Springs, Illinois. Parents are Czech natives.
    Compiled a 4-6 match record, earned a career-high $20,293 and ranked No.
    135 (from 244 in 1987) on the ATP computer in 1988, his best year-end finish.
