Nairobi Ch.; Doubles Runner-up at Coquitlam Ch. (w/Garner).
1988- Fourth place at USTA Satellite #5 (w/20 ATP pts.).
Turned pro in 1987 and coached by Nick Bollettieri.
A two-time All-America at Furman (S.C.) University. He reached the NCAA
quarterfinals in 1987.
Graduated with a degree in business administration.
Attended Furman on a basketball scholarship and started at guard.

Began playing tennis at age 17.
Jumped from 583 to 350 to a year-end best No. 284 on the ATP computer in

Took John McEnroe to three sets (62 46 63) in the second round of the
Canadian Open in Montreal in 1989.
