    The Frenchman finished in Top 70 for seventh time in eight years despite missing last five months of season due to injury…Underwent right shoulder surgery on Sept. 9 and missed rest of year…Began season by claiming his fourth career ATP title in Doha… Defeated Ljubicic in final in what was his first tournament since Wimbledon 2003 when he had to retire with a hip injury…Followed with 3rd RD showing at Australian Open and then helped France record 4-1 win over Croatia in Davis Cup World Group 1st RD with victory over Karlovic in dead fifth rubber…In March, advanced to 4th RD at AMS Indian Wells (l. to Roddick)…Following month, was Davis Cup hero once again after win over Switzerland's Kratochvil in live fifth rubber to complete 3-2 QF victory in Switzerland …On clay, reached 2nd RD at AMS Monte Carlo and career-best 4th RD at Roland Garros…Defeated Arthurs, Mayer and Youzhny before retiring after first set loss to Coria with a right shoulder injury…Did not play again until AMS Toronto on July 26 but lost on return to Lopez in what turned out to be his last match of season.
