    • Began playing tennis aged three on thesynthetic grass court at hisgrandfather's house.
    • Parents are Davide Vavassori and Dorina Fichera. His father, Davide, is his lifelong coach.
    • Has two siblings: a sister, Sara, and a brother, Matteo.
    • Andrea's nickname is 'Wave'. During tennis school people likened the sound of “Vava” from his last name to the English pronunciation of “wave", which stuck.
    • He speaks Italian, English and Spanish.
    • Has always been inspired by serve-and-volley players including Pat Rafter and Pete Sampras.
    • Favourite surface is grass and tournament is Wimbledon.
    • His tennis idol is Roger Federer, favourite athlete is LeBron James and hero is Kobe Bryant. His favourite sport outside of tennis is basketball and he is a Los Angeles Lakers fan.
    • Hobbies include cinema. His favourite movie is Good Will Hunting and actor is Leonardo DiCaprio. His favourite book is The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
    • Enjoys a hamburger with fries after a tournament and his guilty pleasure is coffee.
    • Says his best quality is being a hard worker.

    • Broke into Top 200 at the age of 26 in August 2022 before earning career-high No. 128 in June 2023 after defeating 2-time champion Murray for 1st ATP Masters 1000 win at Madrid.
    • Qualified to reach his 1st ATP Tour QF at 2023 Marrakech after making his ATP Tour singles main draw debut at 2021 Stockholm as a qualifier and notching first ATP Tour win in 1R over Kotov.
    • Has a 79-69 ATP Challenger Tour career record (51-40 on clay), reaching back-to-back finals on home soil at 2022 San Benedetto Del Tronto (l. to Brancaccio) and 2022 Cordenons (l. to Zhang).
    • In doubles, earned a career-high No. 20 in May 2024 after reaching the 2024 Australian Open final w/Bolelli earlier in the season.
    • Captured 4 ATP Tour titles with as many partners in his career: 2021 Cagliari w/Sonego, 2023 Santiago w/Pellegrino, 2023 Marrakech w/Demoliner and 2024 Buenos Aires w/Bolelli.
