    1989- Doubles Winner at Dutch Satellite (w/Beecher w/18 ATP pts.); Doubles
    Semifinalist at Budapest Ch. (w/Beecher).
    Played two years at Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton, Ga. from 1984-86
    before transferring to the University of Miami from 1986-88. Enrolled at
    Abraham Baldwin after writing several letters to different U.S. colleges
    trying to receive a tennis scholarship.
    He won the National Junior College No. 2 singles title in his freshman
    year and finished his sophomore year No. 7 in the junior college rankings.
    At Miami, he played No. 5 singles and No. 1 doubles (w/Andrew Burrow)
    in his junior year. Burrow went on to win the NCAA singles title in 1987.
    Played No. 2 singles in his senior year.
    Completed his degree at Miami in computer engineering in spring 1989.
    Qualified for his first major tournament at Toronto in February 1990,
    losing to Andrew Sznajder 6-0, 6-4, in the first round.
