  • Single Year-by-Year Highlights: 1994-finalist at Monterrey Ch.; SF at Atlanta (as qualifier), Binghamton Ch.; Third at USTA Sat. #1 (w/32 pts.). 1993- Fifth at USTA Sat. #4 (w/28 ATP pts.); Fourth at USTA Sat. #6 Sat. (w/30 ATP pts.). Began playing tennis at age eight. Helped the University of Georgia to the NCAA team final in 1993, where they lost to Southern California. Played three years at Georgia (1991-93) and earned All-America honors each year, reaching the NCAA singles final in 1992 (l. to Alex O'Brien) and 1993 (l. to Chris Woodruff). Prior to playing at Georgia, played one year at Lander (S.C.) University where he was No. 1 in singles. Nicknamed "The Richmond Rifle" by Georgia Director of Tennis Dan Magill, since he comes from Richmond, Va. Underwent reconstructive right knee surgery in spring 1989 as a result of a basketball injury and redshirted the spring 1990 season. Played No. 5 singles for Georgia in spring 1991 and helped team reach the final. Turned pro in summer 1993 and began on the satellite circuit. Qualified for his first career ATP Tour outing in Atlanta in April 1994 and advanced to the semifinals, jumping from 273 to No. 198. Qualified for Wimbledon in 1997 and 1998 and played in the 1994 US Open. Practice partner for the US Davis Cup team in 1993 and 1994. Following his eight year professional career, was assistant coach for the University of Georgia men's tennis team and Matias Boeker's traveling coach. Has been a National Coach for the USTA Player Development program since 2003.
