    best success at the '88 French Open where he upset two-time defending champ
    Ivan Lendl in the quarterfinals en route to the semifinals. Also advanced to
    the quarterfinals of the '89 Australian Open (l. Gunnarssson).
    Compiled a 39-21 match record and earned a career-high $287,001 while
    ranking No. 22 on the ATP computer in 1988.
    Has won a Grand Prix singles title each of the last three years (1986-87
    -88).
