  • "Will Boe" began playing tennis at age five...Born in Oslo, Norway and raised in the United States by his mother, Ingri, an acupuncturist in Connecticut...His younger brother, Thomas, is a mechanical engineer...Credits his mother for his "confidence, diligence, and optimism" and his brother for his "competitiveness, sense of humor and kindness to others"...Earned a degree in biological chemistry from Bates College (Lewiston, Maine) where he was a 5-time All-American (2002-2006), who finished as the #1 ranked singles player in Division III after winning the 2006 NCAA Division III Men�s Tennis Championships singles title (runner-up 2005)...Taught tennis and received grassroots sponsorships through his website to afford competing professionally since graduating from Bates College...Enjoys skiing, sailing, golfing, hiking, darts, billiards, table tennis, reading, writing, media editing, and movies....If he wasn't a tennis player, he would probably be a skier...His favourite TV shows are The Daily Show With John Stewart, The Office, and Entourage...Considers clay as his favourite surface and his serve, forehand and athleticism as his strengths...Uses Solinco Tour Bite 16 strings...Coached by Stanley Matthews Jr. (1962 junior Wimbledon Champion) from 1990-2000; Brian Barker (coach of James Blake) from 2000-2002; and Paul Gastonguay (Bates College Men�s and Women�s Head Coach) from 2002-2006...Works with fitness coach Steve Hoather since 2010.
