Carlos Alcaraz has earned a prestigious nomination for the 2025 Laureus World Sports Awards with his double-major winning 2024 season.

The current No. 3 in the PIF ATP Rankings is on the shortlist for the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award alongside a host of global superstars from other sports. The Laureus World Sports Awards, which also showcase the work of the non-profit organisation Laureus Sport for Good, are a highly regarded ceremony that each May honours the world’s best athletes for their achievements in the previous calendar year.

Alcaraz won his third and fourth Grand Slam crowns in 2024. He triumphed for the first time at Roland Garros before successfully defending his title on the grass at Wimbledon. The Spaniard, who turned 21 last May, also lifted ATP Tour trophies at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells and the China Open in Beijing.

Having also helped Team Europe to glory in Berlin on his Laver Cup debut, Alcaraz finished his 2024 season with a 54-13 record, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. It is the second time he has been nominated for a Laureus World Sports Award: In 2023, he won the Breakthrough of the Year award.
