Flavio Cobolli is one of the most in-form players on the ATP Tour, and the Roland Garros finalist maintained his top form at Wimbledon Thursday by advancing to the third round at the grass-court major. But he has also reached a milestone.
The Italian recorded the 100th tour-level victory with his 7-6(4), 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-1 triumph against James Duckworth in the second round.
“Being here [at Wimbledon] and playing with a great attitude is the goal that I had with the team,” Cobolli shared following his win. “I fought every point that I did. That helped to be here and [I am] happy to reach the third round.”
Cobolli turned pro in 2020 and claimed his first tour-level victory at the ATP 250 event in Parma in 2021, when he clawed past Marcos Giron in a final-set tie-break.
Since then, the Italian has notched a series of significant milestones. Cobolli secured his first Top 10 victory against Holger Rune last year in Madrid and has earned four Top 10 wins overall.
The 24-year-old has also captured three ATP Tour titles, lifting trophies in Bucharest (2025), Hamburg (2025) and Acapulco (2026).
Last month, Cobolli enjoyed his biggest breakthrough yet when he reached his first major final at Roland Garros, falling to Alexander Zverev in a five-set championship match. With that run, the 24-year-old broke into the Top 10 in the PIF ATP Rankings for the first time in his career.
Cobolli, a quarter-finalist at Wimbledon last year, will try to continue his run on Saturday when he takes on Karen Khachanov.
