Jack Draper has withdrawn from next week's HSBC Championships, the tournament announced on social media Tuesday.
"Recovery going in the right direction, but I’m going to give myself one more week and aim to return at Eastbourne," Draper said in the tournament's post on X. "Very hard to miss one of my favourite events of the year."
The British lefty last competed in April at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, where he retired during his first-round clash against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, then subsequently withdrew from Madrid, Rome, Hamburg and Roland Garros.
Draper has been struggling with injury for the past year. Following a semi-final run at The Queen’s Club in 2025, the 24-year-old lost to Marin Cilic in the second round at Wimbledon. The Briton next competed at the US Open, where he withdrew ahead of his second-round clash with Zizou Bergs due to injury, bringing his 2025 season to an early end.
After five months on the sidelines, Draper returned to competition in February this year in a Davis Cup tie against Norway before competing at the ATP 500 event in Dubai. Draper has tallied a 5-4 record this season according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index and reached the quarter-finals in Indian Wells by defeating Novak Djokovic in the fourth round.
The 24-year-old is the No. 112 player in the PIF ATP Live Rankings.
