Alexander Zverev and Felix Auger-Aliassime, the top two seeds at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers, have learned their draw at the Montreal ATP Masters 1000 event.

The No. 2 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Zverev is in the same quarter of the draw as Taylor Fritz, setting up a potential quarter-final meeting. Zverev beat Fritz in straight sets at Wimbledon earlier this month to snap a seven-match losing streak against the American.

Zverev, the 2017 Montreal champion, opens his campaign against Lorenzo Sonego or Tallon Griekspoor, whom he leads 9-2 Lexus ATP Head2Head series. Gael Monfils, who will retire at the end of the season, and Tommy Paul are also featured in the top quarter.

Defending champion Ben Shelton and 2021 winner Daniil Medvedev are on course for a quarter-final clash. Shelton, who captured the biggest title of his career in Toronto last year, begins against fellow American Jenson Brooksby or a qualifier. Fourth seed Medvedev will open against big-serving Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard or Botic van de Zandschulp.

Home favourite and second seed Auger-Aliassime will kick off his Montreal campaign against Estoril champion Luca Van Assche or a qualifier. The 25-year-old Canadian could meet Roland Garros finalist Flavio Cobolli in the quarter-finals. Denis Shapovalov, who defeated Rafael Nadal on his run to the Montreal semi-finals in 2017, opens against Zachary Svajda.

#NextGenATP stars Rafael Jodar, Joao Fonseca and Martin Landaluce have also learned their potential routes in Montreal. Jodar will take on Marton Fucsovics or Corentin Moutet, while both Fonseca and Landaluce begin against a qualifier.

Former World No. 4 Jack Draper, who has not competed since reaching the Eastbourne semi-finals in June, returns to action against fellow lefty Terence Atmane.
