French wild cards Quentin Halys and Pierre-Hugues Herbert captured their first ATP Masters 1000 title as a team on Sunday, when they triumphed on home soil at the Rolex Paris Masters.
Halys and Herbert overcame second seeds Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski 7-6(3), 6-7(4), 10-8 to complete a perfect week in the French capital. The pair embraced after their one-hour, 53-minute win, then saluted the packed crowd on Court Central. Halys and Herbert are the fourth all-French team to lift the trophy at the indoor hard-court event.
"It really is a special one," Herbert said. "I have had a tough year and to be able to win here with Quentin is amazing. He has been the guy this year. He played amazing tennis and carried me in the summer. He helped me go back to training and believe in myself and it is amazing."
The Frenchmen’s win against Harrison and Skupski means Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten have clinched Year-End ATP Doubles No. 1 presented by PIF honours for the first time. Read more here.
In the quick conditions, both teams earned just one break of serve each. Halys and Hebert, who fired 13 aces in the match, conjured up a championship point on the Skupski/Harrison delivery at 5-6 in the second set, but Skupski fended off the danger with a stunning backhand volley on the stretch.
However, the French wild cards would not be denied. After winning Match Tie-breaks earlier this week against Austin Krajicek/Nikola Mektic and Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos, Halys and Herbert once again delivered down the home straight to win their second title as a team (Metz 2025).
"To finish the year with a title is amazing," Halys said. "It is giving me so much confidence... It is crazy good."
Herbert is the first Frenchman to lift eight Masters 1000 trophies in series history, while Halys is the fourth player this year to win both singles and doubles tour-level titles, joining Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton and Lorenzo Musetti.
Earlier this season, Halys and Herbert reached the semi-finals together at Roland Garros and the last four in Doha. They were competing in their seventh tour-level event as a team in 2026.
Harrison and Skupski were seeking their third trophy of the year as a team, having triumphed at the Australian Open and the US Open. The American-British pair will finish their season at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, to be held from 15-22 November.
