
Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic cruised into the quarter-finals at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia on Monday, dispatching fifth seeds Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-1, 6-2.
Arevalo and Pavic won 89 per cent (24/27) of their first-serve points and did not face a break point, according to Infosys ATP Stats, to advance to the last eight in Rome after just 59 minutes.
Arevalo, 33, and Pavic, 30, first teamed at the start of this year. They hold a 15-9 record on the season, with their best result a title run in Hong Kong. Arevalo and Pavic will next meet third seeds Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury.
Arevalo and Pavic's clash against Gonzalez and Roger-Vasselin was the only doubles match on Monday's schedule.
