Jannik Sinner wrote history at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia on Thursday, when he earned his record 32nd consecutive ATP Masters 1000 victory to break his tie with Novak Djokovic for the longest winning streak at the level.

The No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings defeated Andrey Rublev 6-2, 6-4 in the quarter-finals to stand alone in the history books. Djokovic’s previous record of 31 straight Masters 1000 wins spanned from the 2011 Indian Wells second round to the 2011 Cincinnati Open final. Sinner matched that record on Tuesday following his fourth-round triumph in Rome.

Five Longest ATP Masters 1000 Winning Streaks

No.  Player  Wins  Start  End
 1  Jannik Sinner  32  2025 Paris 2R  Active streak
 2  Novak Djokovic  31  2011 Indian Wells 2R  2011 Cincinnati F
 3  Novak Djokovic  30  2014 Paris 2R  2015 Montreal F
 4  Roger Federer  29  2005 Hamburg 1R  2006 Monte-Carlo F
 5T  Novak Djokovic  23  2013 Shanghai 2R  2014 Monte-Carlo SF
 5T  Rafael Nadal  23  2013 Madrid 2R  2013 Shanghai SF

Sinner’s last loss at a Masters 1000 event came at the 2025 Rolex Shanghai Masters in October, when the Italian retired during the deciding set of his third-round clash with Tallon Griekspoor. The Italian began his winning streak at the Rolex Paris Masters in November, when he defeated Zizou Bergs 6-4, 6-2 in the second round and went on to lift the crown. Since that week in the French capital, the 24-year-old has only built his Masters 1000 momentum.

This March, Sinner won the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open presented by Itau to become the first player since Roger Federer in 2017 to complete the 'Sunshine Double'. Sinner also became the first player to achieve the feat without dropping a set.

The Italian carried his form into the clay-court season, defeating great Lexus ATP Head2Head rival Carlos Alcaraz in the championship match at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters before beating Alexander Zverev to win the Mutua Madrid Open. With the victory in Madrid, Sinner became the first player in history to win five consecutive Masters 1000 titles.

Through this remarkable streak, Sinner has lost only two sets in the 32 matches he has won. From his second-round win in Paris through his third-round triumph in Miami, the 24-year-old won a record 37 consecutive sets, highlighting the level of consistency behind his run.

On top of all the glory, another milestone awaits Sinner this week in Rome. Should the 24-year-old win the crown in the Italian capital on Sunday, he will become the second man — after Djokovic — to complete the Career Golden Masters (winning all nine Masters 1000 events) since the ATP Masters 1000 series began in 1990. With the triumph, the World No. 1 will also become the first Italian men's singles champion in Rome since Adriano Panatta in 1976.
