Since making his Rome debut in 2019, the No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings Sinner has tallied a 14-6 record at the tournament, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index.
Sinner, who has competed in Rome six times, reached the final at the clay-court Masters 1000 event in 2025, when he fell to his great Lexus ATP Head2Head rival Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner reached the final in his most recent Rome appearance in 2025. The Italian lost 6-7(5), 1-6 to Alcaraz at the Foro Italico. (Read more & watch highlights).
Sinner has won nine ATP Masters 1000 titles. The Italian has triumphed at all four Masters 1000 events this season. Having also won in Paris at the end of 2025, Sinner became the first player to win five consecutive Masters 1000 events with his victory in early May at the Mutua Madrid Open. If he can now triumph in Rome, Sinner would become just the second player after Novak Djokovic to complete the Career Golden Masters (winning all nine Masters 1000 events at least once). Djokovic has won all nine events at least twice.

Sinner holds a 76-24 win-loss record on clay courts, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, for a winning percentage of 76 per cent.
Sinner will open his Rome campaign against Alex Michelsen or Sebastian Ofner and could face 26th seed Jakub Mensik in the third round. Fifth seed Ben Shelton, 12th seed Andrey Rublev and 15th seed Arthur Fils are among the players in his quarter. Fourth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and seventh seed Daniil Medvedev are also in the top half of the draw.
