Jannik Sinner will chase a Vienna title hat-trick at October’s Erste Bank Open, the tournament announced on Monday.
The No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Sinner is set to defend the title he won in 2025 at the indoor ATP 500 in the Austrian capital. Having also triumphed there in 2023, Sinner is bidding to become just the second player to win three Vienna crowns after Brian Gottfried, who won the event four times.
The 25-year-old Sinner, who has not competed since successfully defending his Wimbledon title in July and missed the recent US Open due to a right knee injury, holds a 17-4 record overall in Vienna, according to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index. The Italian has won six tour-level titles in 2026 so far, having triumphed at the first five ATP Masters 1000 tournaments of the year prior to his Wimbledon win.
Main-draw action at the Erste Bank Open will take place from 24 October to 1 November at the Wiener Stadthalle. Sinner’s fellow former champions Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev have also been confirmed as competing at the event.
