Jannik Sinner extended his lead over Carlos Alcaraz in their Big Titles battle on Sunday when he won his second consecutive Wimbledon title.
The No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings defeated Alexander Zverev in the final of the grass-court major to claim his 17th ‘Big Title’ – a combination of Grand Slam championships, trophies at the Nitto ATP Finals and ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and Olympic singles gold medals. Alcaraz owns 15 Big Titles.
Sinner earned his first Grand Slam crown since Wimbledon one year ago and his fifth major title overall. The Italian has lifted all of his Slam trophies since the start of the 2024 season.
There has been a massive shift in the Big Titles race between Sinner and Alcaraz since 1 February, when Alcaraz triumphed at the Australian Open. At that moment, the Spaniard was up 15-11.
But Sinner has been relentless, winning six of the seven Big Title events since. The 24-year-old became the first player to win the first five ATP Masters 1000 events of the season (the series began in 1990), emerging victorious at Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo, Madrid and in Rome, where he completed his Career Golden Masters.

This was Sinner's sixth Big Title of the year, tied for the most he has won in a season with 2024. There are six Big Titles events remaining in 2026.
Sinner has won a Big Title for every 4.2 tournaments he has played. Having passed Roger Federer (4.4) for the fourth-best rate in series history in Rome, Sinner will now try to chase Alcaraz for the third-best rate (3.9). The World No. 1 can pass the Spaniard by winning his next two Big Titles events. The only stars who have performed at a better rate at these events are Djokovic (3.3) and Nadal (3.5) and Alcaraz (3.9).
