Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are set for a blockbuster showdown in Sunday’s US Open final — their third straight major final clash. The winner will leave New York as No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings, the spot currently held by defending champion Sinner.
The final between top-seeded Sinner and second-seeded Alcaraz will begin at 2 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. CEST on Sunday at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the largest tennis-only stadium in the world.
Sinner and Alcaraz have swept the past seven majors, ensuring a second consecutive calendar-year shutout. While the Italian began the major season with a triumph at the Australian Open, Alcaraz snatched the Roland Garros trophy in dramatic fashion, saving three championship points against Sinner. Then, Sinner struck back at Wimbledon for his second Slam of 2025 and fourth overall.
Alcaraz leads Sinner 9-5 in their Lexus ATP Head2Head rivalry, which has featured gripping matches, such as a 2022 US Open quarter-final meeting, their lone encounter at Flushing Meadows, won by Alcaraz after Sinner held match point.
