Won Swedish Junior Championship at 18 and ranked as high as No. 4 among junior Swedes...  Enjoys golf and considers hockey and soccer as favorite sports... A big fan of James Bond films and favorite actor is Al Pacino... An avid NHL fan and tries to catch a game in every NHL city where an ATP tournament stops... His idols growing up were countrymen Mats Wilander and Stefan Edberg.

Has a 38-23 career Davis Cup record in 34 ties (17-10 in singles) since 1994... Played in Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996 (l. in 1st RD in singles and doubles)... Member of ATP Player Council in 1998-2001... Selected as Player Council President in 2000-01... Publishes a Swedish tennis magazine... Wife, Petra (married Dec. 2, 2000 in Stockholm)... Son, Max (born Jan. 15, 2003); daughter, Bianca (born Jan. 21, 2008).

In his post-playing career, he has joined forces with former ATP pros Thomas Johansson and Simon Aspelin to set up the , designed for  amateur players who want to improve their level in club and division league play. He also works as the Marketing Director of the If Stockholm Open and as a TV and radio analyst.
