Enjoyed an outstanding junior career, ranking No. 18 in the Boys' 18s in 1986. Played No. 1 at Encinitas (Calif.) High School and the top recruit. Played four years at the Univ. of California-Berkeley from 1988-91, where he was part of three top 10 teams. He played Nos. 3-4 in the lineup most of his career, compiling a lifetime singles record of 97-65 and 42-22 in doubles. Enjoys fishing along with brother, Michael. Began coaching Michael on Tour in July 1991 and the two have teamed up in doubles 12 times (3-12 record) -- 1-2 in 1990, 0-3 in 1991, 2-5 in 1992 and 0-2 in 1993.
