-- In the World Group Qualifying Round vs France at Tel Aviv, lost the opening singles to Cedric Pioline 62 63 63 but lost the fifth and dead rubber to Nicolas Escude 46 62 61. France won the tie 4-1 and advanced to the 1999 World Group while Israel will compete in Euro/African Zone Group 1 in the 1999 competition.

Began playing tennis at age seven...Father, Igal, is a hairdresser, and mother, Odet is a housewife. Has a twin brother, Hemi, and two other brothers...Hobbies include television and basketball.
