Won the 1979 ATP Newcomer of the Year Award besting Ivan Lendl for the honor. Vince is also an established film and television actor and is the son of actor Dick Van Patten.
Personal: Retired in 1986 and returned to the film world...produced the tennis movie "The Break"...wrote and directed "The Flunky"...In 2001, he appeared in the ABC movie "Battle of the Sexes" which dramatized the memorable 1973 tennis match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King at the Houston Astrodome...currently the host commentator for the nationally televised World Poker Tour.
