He won Canadian juniors singles titles in 14s, 16s, 18s and 21s and was the Canadian National Champion from 1981-83. He studied economics at Pepperdine University where he was a four-year letter winner from 1979-1983 and a three-time All-America. Named the Doubles Team of the Year (w/Connell) by Tennis Canada in 1987. Teams with Connell to form one of the best combinations on the tour, having reached the Australian Open quarterfinals in 1988-89. Member of 14 Canadian Davis Cup teams and represented his country at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, earning him induction into the Hall of Fame of Canadian Tennis. Compiled a 9-12 match record, earned a career-high $67,030 and ranked No. 102 on the ATP computer in 1988, his highest since 1985 when he finished No. 76.
