Was elected first time in Finland's Davis Cup -team in 1976 and last time in 1990. Member of Davis Cup and Kings Cup team over 50 times. Was 2005-2007 Davis Cup -captain for Finland. Coached Reino Nyyssönen…  Studied Master of Science degree in Helsinki while playing internationally…  Currently "working" as a private investor… Worked in a family company Berner Ltd. on two occasions, managing the sports department. Worked for Reebok International  in 91-92 with the task to establish Reebok in former East European countries in the most interesting time. Worked with Russia, Poland and Ukraine and found it challenging…  Living in Helsinki, spending summers in Hanko and on our island in the Finnish archipelago. Part of the winter in Delray Beach, FL, with second wife Nina and daughter Mimi. Oldest son Stefan(born -94) going for university studies  and Mimi (-05) will still be at home for many years… Both his kids like playing tennis. Won the father&son "national" championship with his son Stefan, as he did in 76 with his father Erik… Enjoys playing the ITF-tournaments around the world, only in nice locations. Won some European Championships in his age category.  Joakim is also organizing his "own" ITF-tournament in Hanko. Will be involved organizing the Seniors World Championships played 2016 in Helsinki…  Does charity work for juniors by collecting notable funds yearly for his winter (GVLK) and summer (HTK) tennis clubs.
