Younger brother of former pro Rod Frawley. Rod and his father helped in the comeback from injuries, as John's train ing included gym work, running and weightlifting. He won only seven singles matches in 1987 but came back to post a 24-21 match record and earn a career-high $105,698 in 1988. He finished No. 60 on the ATP computer, his third top 100 ranking in five years. Only compiled a 3-13 match record while dropping to 414 on the ATP computer rankings in 1989.
