Reached the quarterfinals of the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. 1994- S & D Winner at USTA Sat. #3 (w/58 pts.). 1993- Third at USTA Sat. #4 (w/35 pts.). Captured the 1994 NCAA singles title in May 1994, defeating Wayne Black of Southern California 6-2, 6-7(8-10), 6-4, to capture the singles title. He became the first man to win the NCAA singles crown from Florida. Finished No. 2 in the country. In 1993, captured the NCAA doubles title (w/David Blair). Played four years at Florida, earning four-time All-America honors in singles and doubles (twice each) his final two years. The all-time leader in Florida history with a 112-29 singles record and a school-record 190 combined singles and doubles victories, he was inducted to UF's Hall of Fame in 2005. Enjoyed an outstanding junior career, ranking sixth in the nation in the Boys' 18s in 1990. Captured the national 16-under junior title in 1988 and won the Orange Bowl under-18 doubles title in 1989. Also won the 18-under national clay courts doubles championship. The four-time Florida high school state singles champion and a three- time doubles winner. Hobbies include surfing, golf and basketball. Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe are his favorite sports personalities. Majored in liberal arts at Florida, just short of earning his bachelor's degree. Joined the USTA Player Development staff in 2006 as a National Coach.
