    Full name is Martin Alberto Garcia...Began playing tennis before he was born with his mother, Gillian, who was playing three months before giving birth to her only son...Has a prenatal medal from his mother who reached final at a club tournament...At 14 months old, began playing on a tennis court with his mother after she played with her friends...At age two, played in weekly tennis school at his club and four years later began competing in tournaments...Father, Albert, is a retired engineer; mother is a teacher...Has three sisters....While growing up, admired countrymen Guillermo Vilas and Jose-Luis Clerc and former No. 1 Mats Wilander...Finished No. 12 in world doubles rankings in 1995, winning titles in Paraguay and Brazil...Also doubles finalist at Orange Bowl in '94...Coached by Gabriel Markus.
