Began playing tennis at age 11 with his parents.
Played soccer until 11 at the Paris Football Club, but stopped one day
because he didn't enjoy being the goalkeeper.
Won the French national junior singles and doubles championships in
1986 (w/Guerson). Played on the French Galea and Sunshine Cup teams.
Captured his first ATP Tour doubles title in February 1991 at Guaruja,
Brazil (w/Delaitre) and four years later won his second in Johannesburg (w/
Raoux).
Has career Top 10 wins over then-No. 6 Pete Sampras at Key Biscayne in
March 1991 and then-No. 4 Boris Becker at the French Open in 1993.
