Began playing at age 7 and at 13 entered junior tournaments...Won the Michigan high school state title all four years, winning at No. 2 in doubles and No. 1, 2 and 3 in singles...Earned the Southeastern Michigan Home Sportsmanship Award and Western Tennis Association Sportsmanship Award in 1989...Reached the Boys' 18s doubles final (w/R.
