Older brother Byron retired in 2002 after a successful 12-year career... Younger sister, Cara, finished as No. 1 junior in world in 1997, and won her first WTA singles title in 2002... Attended Newcombe Tennis Academy in New Braunfels, Texas, in 1991... Played three seasons at University of Southern California and earned singles and doubles All-America honors in 1993-94... Advanced to NCAA Championships singles final in May 1994, losing to Florida's Mark Merklein in three sets...
